‘The Soldier’ is a beautiful sonnet which has been composed by a war poet Rupert Brooke. He has been described by the famous poet W.B. Yeats as the most beautiful young man in England. This sonnet is full of patriotism.
The hero of this poem is a soldier, who is ready to sacrifice for his country. He says wherever I die, that land will forever belong to England. That land will be great. Because in that soil the air, water, memories and thoughts of England will be found. That land will be holy.
