The Earth Summary in Hindi Class 12 | The earth class 12 objective questions

9. The Earth (भूमि)

The Earth is an emotional story written by short story writer H. E. Bates. The story is about a farmer Johnson and his son, Benji, who are simple-minded. The story shows the laziness of the parents and the selfishness and cunning of their simple-minded son. Which eventually drives them away from their homes.

द अर्थ एक भावप्रधान कहानी है, जिसे लघुकथाकार एच. ई. बेट्स के द्वारा लिखा गया है। यह कहानी एक किसान जॉनसन और उनके बेटे बेंजी के बारे में है, जो सीधा-साधा  (मुर्ख) दिमाग का होता है। यह कहानी माता-पिता के आलस्य और उसके भोले दिमाग वाले बेटे के स्वार्थ और चालाकी को दर्शाता है। जो अंत में उन्हें उनके घर से भगा देता है।

Johnson was a local priest and tenant farmer. At the age of thirty, a son was born, whose name was Benji. He was retarded and simple-minded. His eyes were blue. He looked innocent. He did not like to study. He was Johnson’s only son. Johnson was always worried about his future.

जॉनसन एक लोकल पूजारी और टैनेंट किसान था। तीस वर्ष की आयु में एक पुत्र हुआ, जिसका नाम बेंजी था। वह मंदबुद्धि तथा साधारण दिमाग वाला था। उसकी आँखें नीली थी। वह मासुम दिखता था। उसे पढ़ाई में मन नहीं लगता था। वह जॉनसन का इकलौता बेटा था। जॉनसन उसके भविष्य को लेकर हमेशा चिंतित रहता था।

His parents took Benji to a doctor to develop his intelligence. The doctor recommends doing business for Benji so that his brain can develop. His parents bought him a hen.

बेंजी के बुद्धि विकसित करने के लिए उसके माता-पिता एक डॉक्टर के पास ले गए। डॉक्टर ने बेंजी के लिए व्यवसाय करने का सलाह दिया ताकि उसका दिमाग विकसित हो सके। उसके माता-पिता ने उसके लिए मुर्गी खरीद दिया।

Benji got into the chicken business. Benji started producing eggs from chickens. He used to sell eggs by taking them to the cities. Thus Benji’s business grew. He earned a lot of money. He bought land for the poultry farm. His father used to cultivate the land on rent. That land was also bought by Benji. In this way, the wealth of Benji became very high.

बेंजी मुर्गी के कारोबार में लग गया। बेंजी मुर्गी से अण्डा का उत्पादन करने लगा। वह अंडा को शहरों में ले जाकर बेचा करता था। इस प्रकार बेंजी का व्यवसाय बढ़ गया। वह बहुत पैसा कमा लिया। वह पॉर्ल्टी फार्म के लिए जमीन खरीद लिया। उसके पिता जिस जमीन को किराये पर लेकर खेती करते थे। उस जमीन को भी बेंजी ने खरीद लिया। इस प्रकार बेंजी के पास धन-दौलत काफी अधिक हो गया।

Benji falls in love with a woman working on his farm. Which was not beautiful at all. Whose name was Florence. He married Florence against the wishes of his parents. At that time Benji was 40 years old.

बेंजी को उसके फार्म में काम करनेवाली एक महिला से प्यार हो गया। जो बिल्कुल भी सुंदर नहीं थी। जिसका नाम फ्लोरेंस था।  वह अपने माता-पिता के इच्छा के विरूद्ध फ्लोरेंस से शादी कर लिया। उस समय बेंजी की आयु 40 वर्ष थी।

Florence began to traduce Benzy. She started quarreling with Benji’s mother in the house. At last, Benji puts his parents in a car and drops them off at another place.

फ्लोरेंस बेंजी का कान भरने लगी। वह घर में बेंजी के माँ से झगड़ा करने लगी। अंत में, बेंजी अपने माता-पिता को एक गाड़ी में बैठाता है और उनलोगों को दूसरे जगह छोड़ देता है।

Thus, the story shows how a simple minded child, Benjy, is drived away from their home and land due to the parents’ laziness and belief in fate.

इस प्रकार, यह कहानी दर्शाता है कि माता-पिता के आलस्य और भाग्य पर विश्वास के कारण कैसे एक मंदबुद्धि बालक बेंजी उनके घर और जमीन से भगा देता है।
