7. Macavity : the Mystery Cat
‘Macavity: A Mystery Cat’ is a beautiful poem which has been composed by T.S. Eliot. In this poem the poet has explained about a mysterious cat, whose name is Macavity.
‘मेकावीटी : एक रहस्यमयी बिल्ली’ एक सुंदर कविता है, जिसे टी. एस. एलियट के द्वारा संकलित किया गया है। इस कविता में कवि ने एक रहस्यमयी बिल्ली के बारे में व्याख्या किए हैं, जिसका नाम मेकाविटी होता है।
The poet says that he is not an ordinary cat. The poet has called him a mysterious cat. The poet has called that cat a hidden paw. He is such a clever cat that even the police of England have not been able to catch him. There is no cat like it. He commits a crime and disappears from there. Sometimes you can see it in the basement, sometimes in the air.
कवि कहते हैं कि वह कोई साधारण बिल्ली नहीं है। उसे कवि ने रहस्यमयी बिल्ली कहा है। कवि ने उस बिल्ली को छूपा हुआ पंजा कहा है। वह इतना चालाक बिल्ली है कि इंग्लैंड की पुलिस भी इसे पकड़ नहीं पायी है। इसके जैसा कोई बिल्ली नहीं है। यह अपराध करके वहाँ से गायब हो जाता है। इसे कभी बेसमेंट में, तो कभी हवा में देख सकते हैं।
Its eyes are sunken. The eyebrows are deep. The head is dome shaped. Mustache is done without combing. It is half asleep and half awake. When the crime is discovered, Macavity disappears from there.
इसकी आँखें धँसी हुई होती है। भौंहें गहरी होती है। सिर गुंबद के आकार का होता है। मूँछे बिना कंघी किए होती है। यह आधी सोया और आधी जगा रहता है। जब अपराध का पता चलता है, तब मेकाविटी वहाँ से गायब हो जाता है।
He has drunken milk. breaks the glass. But is not caught. The intelligence department is unable to catch him even knowing it. He always has many ways to defend himself. All its functions are mysterious. The poet has called Macavity the Napoleon of crime.
वह दूध गायब कर देता है। काँच को तोड़ देता है। लेकिन पकड़ा नहीं जाता है। खुफिया विभाग उसे जानते हुए भी नहीं पकड़ पाता है। उसके पास हमेशा बचाव के कई तरीकें होते हैं। इसके सभी कार्य रहस्यमयी होते हैं। कवि ने मेकाविटी को अपराध का नेपोलियन कहा है।
