1. Indian Civilization and Culture Summary Explantion in Hindi | Indian Civilization and Culture Objective Questions

September 9, 2022 by Raja Shahin 1 Comment

In this article, I shall read summary explanation of Indian Civilization and Culture in Hindi and English. Which has been written by Mahatma Gandhi.

Indian Civilization and Culture Summary Explantion in Hindi

1. Indian civilization and culture

Indian Civilization and Culture is an extract, which has been written by Mahatma Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi was born on 2nd October, 1869 in Porbandar, Gujrat. He popularly known as Bapu or the Father of the Nation. His autobiography is My Experiment with Truth. He died at the hands of a fanatic on 30 January, 1948. The period from 1915 to 1948 is called Gandhi age. In this extract, Gandhijee described about the feature of Indian Civilization.

Gandhijee says that no other civilization in the world can be compared with Indian Civilization. Indian Civilization cannot be defeated in the world because we are following the path that our ancestors made for us. He says that the ancient civilization of Rome, Greece, China, Egypt and Pharaohs went, but Indian Civilization is still secure. India remains immovable and that is her glory.

Civilization is that mode of conduct which points out to man the path of duty and teaches us to uphold moral principles. He says that Indian civilization is based on good conduct.

Gandhijee says that mind is a restless bird, the more it gets the more it wants and still remains unsatisfied.

According to Gandhijee, a man is happy because he is rich, or unhappy because he is poor. The rich are often unhappy. Our civilization does not depend on multiplying our wants. But upon restricting wants self-denial.

He says that the base of Indian Civilization is ‘Simple living and high thinking’.  Our ancestors followed the principle and lived a happy life. They did not run behind money and that is why they were satisfied.

Gandhijee says that world famous Attic civilization of Greece is no more and Gibbon Civilization of Itly is also no more.

Thus, Indian Civilization is the most vital and the longest surviving of all civilization in the world. So, Indian Civilization can teach the world.

At last, Gandhi Jee says that we should not adopt modern civilization because modern civilization is based on worship of the material.

In this essay, Bertrand Russell says that in ancient times, humans were very few in number, so they lived in caves and forests. They had to face difficulty for food. Gradually civilization developed and humans went on becoming civilized.

His knowledge and thinking helped in changing the thoughts of mankind. New discoveries helped in the development of man. Today we have everything for comfort. The author says that today we are better than animals. He says that millions of animals die of starvation. In olden times, humans also used to die of hunger, but today we have many facilities. Our life is more secure than ever.

The author expresses grief over the fact that even today we fight in the name of religion, caste and nation. In this case, he has described animals as better than humans.

Domestication of animals, development of language, agriculture and the art of writing made life easier for mankind.

Thus, due to the development of our thoughts in this way the human race developed and became more prosperous and civilized than before.

I have a Dream Summary in Hindi and English

4. I have a Dream

I Have a Dream is a speech, which has been written by a great civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. He was a great follower of Gandhiji. Like Mahatma Gandhi, he also ended rational discrimination from America by following the path of truth and non-violence.

Martin Luther King Jr. was awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace in 1964. He was assassinated on April 4, 1968.

The present speech ‘I have a Dream’ was given by Martin Luther King Jr. on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC on August 28, 1963. In this speech, he speaks about his dream of seeing Alabama as a developed state and his desire to see America free from racial discrimination.

He says in his speech that 100 years ago the great American declared the independence of Negro, but even today the condition of Negro people is not good. Negro people are discriminated against here even though they are the native of this place.

Martin Luther King Jr. says in his speech that if America is to be a great nation, black people have to be empowered. America cannot be great as long as black people are discriminated against.

He speaks of his dream of ending racial discrimination in America between white and black people. He says that our movement will continue until the rights of black people are found in America, and the discrimination between white and black is not eradicated.

He says of his dream that one day the sons of slave owners and the sons of slaves would play together on the Red Hills of Georgia, USA. One day America will be free from injustice and oppression.

He further says about his dream that my children will not be judged by the color of the skin but by his character. Discrimination against America will end in such a way that one day every valley will be elevated, every hill and mountain will be low. That is, everyone will see together.

At last, Martin Luther King Jr. says that if America is to be a great nation, it must be America that eliminates discrimination between whites and blacks. Voices came from every corner of America that finally discrimination in America was completely eradicated.
